　　友情提示：在做相关试题时请注意先看句子里有无时间状语，因为它们是时态的标志;若没有，要根据语境，即，上下文来判断时态;最后，还要记住一句话，通常时态语态不分家，即，确定了时态还要考虑有无被动语态。

　　①. I arrived late; I ____ the traffic to be so heavy this morning.

　　解析：浏览一下选项可知本题考语法，尤其是时态。动词expect应该发生在动词arrived之前，所以时态要用过去完成时，因此答案是B。
