I didn't mean to hurt you.
英语四级词汇讲解：
I didn't mean to…是一个很好用的句型，用在向别人道歉时，尤其是无意间伤害了某人时。
如:I didn't mean to make you cry.或I didn't mean to make you crazy.还可以简单说成I didn't meanit.
本句中，mean to意为“打算;计划”。
如:I mean to go, but my father would not allow me to.我想去，但是我父亲不肯让我去。
mean还可以作形容词，表示“小气的;刻薄的”。
如:Don't be so mean . She just forgot to bring your book-that does not mean she lost it.别这么小气。她不过是忘记把你的书带来了，又不是弄丢了。
