1.*assign [ə'saɪn]

vt. 分配;分派;委派

She was assigned to the newspaper’s Berlin office.

她被派到报社驻柏林的办事处。

assignment n. 任务，作业

2.designate ['dezɪgneɪt]

vt. 指定，选定;委派

Traditionally, the president designates his or her successor.
