46. composed of, comprised of, consist of, be made up of 它们都表示 “由……组成”，用法基本一样，前三者文体风格上正式一些，最后这个短语具口语性一些。此外，consist of 没有被动形式, Our party was composed of teachers ，pupils and their parents.我们这一伙人由老师、学生及其家长组成。Water is comprised of hydrogen and oxygen. “水由氢元素和氧元素组成。”The committee consists of ten members. “该委员会由10 人组成。”Are all animal bodies made up of cells?“动物的身体都是由细胞组成的吗?”
46. contrast of, contrast between ，contrast to. contrast with表示对比，对照。这些短语主要需注意的是词性与介词搭配之间的关系。contrast 用作动词时，可说contrast X with Y .contrast X and Y ，X contrast (s) with Y。用作名词时，可说 a/the contrast between/of X and Y , X make ( s ) a contrast to/ with Y , by contrast with X , in contrast to/with X。
